One-night stay for business. Landlord was welcoming, folks in bar friendly and chef very attentive and keen to please. Food excellent though menu limited as chef was new. Room clean and cosy.... Read more

As above, especially friendlines of staff and folks in the bar that evening.
Dislikes:
No real ale (but that's just me). My room backed on to a courtyard / car park and my sleep disturbed very early by vehicles moving off.

Nothing was too much trouble, owners fitted breakfast around us even cooking really early on the day we had to go to an appointment.

The age of the place. Parking space at the rear was just what we needed because we have a long-wheelbase van. Reception staff was very polite and she made us feel welcome, as did all the staff there.

The character and the history of this lovely building; the parking was very good and at the back,and as it was so nice we ate outside. We were also impressed by the all round standard of cleanliness.

The room was fine although the toilet was dirty and the television did not work. When I booked in I requested breakfast at 8 in the morning but when I came down the next day the kitchen was closed and there did not seem to be anyone on site. Read less

Dislikes:
A rough part of town. Dirty toilet in en-suite. Television with no connection to its digibox. No staff on site in the morning and no breakfast available (although I'd requested it).
